First, let me state that Tim and Phil (along with Rita and Liz) did a great job doing Happy Hour these past 10 months, they will be missed. But Tim has decided to step down as the Omaha Sports Club's "Happy Hour Representative" and take on a career change: I heard he will be in charge of Happy Hours on the Crown Princess Cruise Line, touring the Eastern Caribbean and Grand Turk Islands.
However, Phil Stamp will remain in Omaha as my silent co-chair and cake picker-upper. He's the perfect partner: he likes beer, he's always happy (for at least two hours on Friday) and he likes to buy the beer.
As newly appointed Happy Hour representative, I'd like to make a few changes to an almost perfectly run system. In other words, I'd like to party more often.
So instead of meeting once-a-month for Happy Hours, I'd like to meet at least every other Friday (or twice a month). At the August Happy Hour, I was approached with a suggestion for our next Happy Hour.
In September, we'll have:
September 2: Last Omaha Royals game at Rosenblatt Stadium
September 10: Annual Affair (the grand daddy of all Happy Hours)
September 17: Hooters (delightfully tacky, yet unrefined).
Hooters
12400 West Center Street (Westwood Plaza)
Friday, September 17
5 p.m. ‘til whenever
$1.79 domestic pints, $2.50 wells and 49¢ wings until 7 p.m.
Send me an email, too, and I'll put your name on the Happy Hour Mailing list... happyhour@omahasportsclub.com
Hope to see you there!
