Last month we had a Happy Hour at the Crescent Moon. If I remember correctly Tim and Phil had a Happy Hour there the night I had golf league at Elmwood Golf Course, and I couldn't go.
So I decided to book Crescent Moon myself. But that night there was the threat of our first snow and I think that kept people away. We had a small crowd, but we had a good time. The drive home in the snowstorm was treacherous and I hope everybody made it home OK.
Later in November we went to Josephine's Cozy Corner Lounge (which I looked forward to). But by the time this article was printed, we had gone there already.
Looking forward to December 10, someone suggested going to the Loose Moose (again) at 120th and Fort streets (another Happy Hour I missed because of Friday golf). Since I love hearing suggestions, I went with it. I heard it's a fun place with great happy hour specials - $1.50 draws, $2 bottles, $5 pitchers and $9 buckets. "The Labels" band will play for those that stay later. It's a 16-minute drive for the bowlers and it starts at 4:30 p.m.
On December 22, a Wednesday, we will take a trip to The Upstream West, 170th and West Center Road. Craft beers brewed by Upstream go for $2 a pint (you won't see Bud Light at this establishment, but a reasonable facsimile may be available) along with a weekly 12-inch thin-crust pizza special. Everyone needs a beer before Christmas with the family and it starts at 4:30 p.m.
