With Fat Tuesday coming up and St. Patrick's Day shortly after that, you'd think I could arrange something for our club. But since both days are on a weekday, I found it difficult to guess how many would come out to "earn the beads" or "wear the green." Calculating the cost to purchase a weekday crawl/bus was impossible. (Especially when I had to arrange everything in early February to make the Sportscaster deadline).
On March 11, the second Friday of the month, we head north to the NEWLY relocated Goldeez. Actually it's in the same area, still on 103rd Street, just one building further south. (but still next to the exotic dancers training camp). Enjoy $3.25 domestic draws, $3 tall-boys, $7 pitchers and $1 shots. It's only a 15-minute drive (Google maps) for the bowlers and it starts at 4:30 p.m.
Later, on March 25, the fourth Friday of the month, we'll pay a visit to DJ's Dugout in Miracle Hills Plaza, 636 N. 114th St. Join us at DJ's for some March Madness NCAA regional excitement. Please note: DJ's Dugout will not allow me to "save tables" for our group.... so I'll need your help (between 4 - 4:30). If anyone wants to come out early, please help me save a table or two (and help me drink my pitcher).
Happy Hour runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and participants get $1 off domestic pints, import pints and happy hour appetizers. It's only a 12-minute drive for the bowlers (Google maps) and it starts at 4:30 p.m.
One other note: Golf season is fast approaching, that means I'll be at the golf course on Friday nights beginning in May (not at Happy Hour) but I want to continue this bi-weekly happy hour tradition. If you would like to "host a happy hour" on a one-time basis, this is your chance. If you have a "favorite bar" that you've always wanted the Sports Club to visit, please contact me and set a date. (You get to pick the bar).
