If you're wondering what we did last month for Happy Hour, you probably missed our visits to the Firewater Grille and the Upstream on Thanksgiving Eve. Last month, a past Omaha Sports Club member from years ago drove to Omaha from Kansas City for the weekend and stopped in to see if there were any of the old gang still around (see pictures).
Just so you know: I'm always open for suggestions on future Happy Hours and happy to listen. But one quick note: If the place you want to visit is a "very popular place" and they have no problem bringing people in already or don't offer any happy hour specials, chances are they aren't going to reserve 15-20 seats for us. Especially since I don't know who's coming out and who's not.
This month in December we have two first time visits. On Friday, December 2 (the first Friday in December), we’ll go to Blind Dave's. As the bar slogan goes, "The place to be seen" is very close for the bowlers at 5082 S. 136th St. Blind Dave's is open 365 days a year. Specials include ($1.75 domestic pints, $2 well drinks and $3-$4 calls) Cash only. It's only one mile to the bowling alley for the OSC bowlers. If we don't see all the OSC bowlers at this happy hour, we'll never see them.
Later this month on Friday, December 16, we’ll have another first time visit to Brewburgers at 4629 S. 108th St. (Enter at 108th and J streets, east side). Happy Hour specials include 1/2 price on everything, even appetizers. It's only two miles to the bowling alley for the OSC bowlers (Seven minutes to drive and only 45 minutes if you walk - Google).
Each Happy Hour begins at 4:30 - 5 p.m.
