Blind Dave's was a hoot ... (except Dave wasn't there). It was a little scary at first, but we owned the bar as soon as the regular crowd shuffled out. Blind Dave's was best described as: "just like my neighborhood bar back home." The mixed drinks were strong and I was told some of us didn't leave till 10 or so. But I should have given directions. It turns out some had problems with locating this fine establishment. I hope do better in 2012.
I've tried to keep OSC Happy Hours close to the bowling league, so OSC bowlers could join us. I came to the conclusion that very few bowlers actually come out for Happy Hour (except for the very loyal crowd). Do I need to entice the league bowlers somehow to get them to show up?
To start off in January (the second Friday in January), we will go on Friday the 13th to the Drafthouse, 1201 S. 180th St. (southeast corner of 180th & Pacific). Specials include: $2.50 domestics pints, $3 well drinks and $10 buckets. It's only 5.5 miles to the bowling alley for the OSC bowlers, or 8 minutes driving (depending how you drive) for the bowlers.
Later this month on Friday, January 27 (last Friday in January), we’ll return to the Corkscrew for a little "pre-birthday celebration." It’s always a great time at the Corkscrew, with great wine specials that are specially chosen for our group. The Corkscrew is at 10924 Prairie Brook Road (enter at 108th in the Rockbrook Shopping center). Happy Hour specials include great wines and maybe a beer, too. It's only 2.2 miles to the bowling alley for the OSC bowlers; or 5 minutes driving (depending how you drive) for the bowlers. (Google).
Each Happy Hour begins at 4:30 p.m.Beginning in January, we’ll have a drawing for a free drink at the next Happy Hour. So show up at the Drafthouse for a chance to get a free drink at the Corkscrew and come to the Corkscrew for a chance to get the free drink at a February Happy Hour.
