At our last Happy Hour of 2011 at Brewburgers, I decided to begin my "thanks for being an Omaha Sports Club member" program without telling anyone. I checked off names of OSC members who showed up for Happy Hour and later two names were selected (at random) for a free drink at the next Happy Hour.
At our first Happy Hour of January at the Draft House, two people were drawn but only one showed up. R.C. Bammer was our first winner (and I bought him a drink). The Draft House was a good Happy Hour (although their best Happy Hour prices are on Tuesday when they offer $1.50 pitchers). It was still a good turnout, which later turned into a younger crowd.
Phil Stamp must have climbed the stripper's pole three or four times and he did us all a favor by not pole dancing. Several bowlers showed up (that's good) and I kept track of members for the drawing at our next Happy Hour at the Corkscrew (which hadn't happened yet when I wrote this article).
In February, our first stop will be at Geno's Bar & Grille, 3821 N. 167th Court (167th & West Maple) on Friday, February 10, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Happy Hour specials include: 25-oz. frozen mugs for $3.50/$4.50 (domestic/craft) and $14 buckets. Happy Hour lasts till 7 p.m.
Our second stop will be at The Bottomless Glass, 17520 Wright Street (1 block south of West Center and east of 177th Street) on Friday, February 24, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Happy Hour specials include: $2 Busch/Busch Lite Tall boys; $3 Man-Can of Miller Lite and Coors Light and free queso and chips till 7 p.m. With a name like the Bottomless Glass, it has to be good. I will be there at 4:30 p.m.
Each Happy Hour will have at least one free drink winner.
