Does life get any better than football, poker and friends along with beer and chili? Probably not. That's why sports clubbers should plan on coming to the Beer and Chili Feed on Sunday, November 15, from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at Dinker's Bar, 2368 S. 29th St.
The Beer and Chili Feed has moved to a new date because it fits better with the time and the events of the year - football and friends on a Sunday afternoon in the autumn. Wear your favorite team colors and come hungry and thirsty. Dinker's will show football games on six TVs.
As usual, chili cooks are encouraged to share their secret chili recipe and cook up a batch to bring to the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top three chilis. All participating cooks who register by November 8 get free admission.
And if the chilis run low or you don't eat chili, Dinker's will also provide more chili (from a secret family recipe) and sloppy joe's, so that no one will leave hungry or thirsty - pitchers of beer will cost $5.50.
For a new twist, plan on entering the Texas Hold Em Poker Tournament. Some prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners!
Cost will be $9 per member and $11 per guest. No checks or credit cards accepted. Please pay cash.
