Bowling

Omaha Sports Club offers bowling on Friday nights. Teams consist of eight to 10 bowlers. Five bowlers bowl each week, which allows participants regular nights off. Bowling is "pay per play" - pay $12 only on the nights you bowl. Lanes are turned on for practice at 6:15 p.m. and bowling starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. Bowling should end no later than 9:45 p.m.

If you are interested in bowling with the Omaha Sports Club, please contact Darlene Zauss or send an e-mail to bowling@omahasportsclub.com.

We have several Omaha Sports Club bowlers that will be participating in upcoming tournaments.

For the Nebraska USBC Open Championship Tournament (aka Men's State), there are four teams going to the Big Apple Fun Center in Kearney on March 5 and 6.

Those going to this tournament are: Kent Blobaum, Chris Bochnicek, Andy Hunter, Bud Melia,Todd and Bryan McConkey, Doug Wendt (yes, he's coming back for the weekend), John and Jay Weyant, and Darlene Zauss. They will join a few Western Bowl employees and some bowlers from other leagues.

Then the ladies will have their chance to represent the league at the Nebraska USBC Women's State Tournament in Lincoln on March 26 and 27. The team event will be at Parkway Lanes and doubles/singles will be at Hollywood Bowl.

The gals going are: Susan Bertrand, Evelyn Hans, Sandy Luedtke, Sandy Martin, Pat Martinson, Melissa McConkey, Mary Morss, Marlys Oestreich, Sheryl Park, Diana Spencer, Michaela Starks, Joyce Stoural and Darlene Zauss.

If you see any of the bowlers mentioned above, tell them to represent the OSC well and to knock down those sticks! Have fun and bowl well.
