Final Week
Bowling

Omaha Sports Club offers bowling on Friday nights. Teams consist of eight to 10 bowlers. Five bowlers bowl each week, which allows participants regular nights off. Bowling is "pay per play" - pay $12 only on the nights you bowl. Lanes are turned on for practice at 6:15 p.m. and bowling starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. Bowling should end no later than 9:45 p.m.

If you are interested in bowling with the Omaha Sports Club, please contact Darlene Zauss or send an e-mail to bowling@omahasportsclub.com.

Bowling News

The Bowling Banquet was held May 3 at Johnny Sortino's - it was a bit too crowded and noisy but we managed to get our business accomplished.  Final awards and league winnings were distributed to those team representatives present and much "sharing of the wealth" has already taken place.  Dave Goehring apparently is saving up his team's winnings for a grand trip to the Caribbean or something - hope you at least are getting interest on that money, Dave!

Four options were suggested for next year's start and end dates - the don't start too early and end as early as possible option won out.  We will start on September 4 - taking off September 11 for the Annual Affair, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We'll end the season on April 23, 2010.

I know that September 4 is the Friday of Labor Day weekend and that some teams may have difficulty coming up with a full team that night , but we will try to work out something for a makeup if there are problems. I hope most teams can be present that night.

Next year's budget was presented and, due to the necessity of purchasing new software, the payout will drop from 71 cents per win to about 65 cents a win. The cost of bowling per player per night will remain at $12.

League officers will remain as Chris Bochnicek, president; Lois Dorn, vice-president and sargeant at arms; John Weyant, treasurer, and Pat Martinson, secretary.

I will contact teams mid-July this year to determine status.  I know of a few teams that will need bowlers for next year. If you are a couple that would like to bowl or singles wanting to sign up - please contact me.  Most teams try to arrange their schedules so that you bowl two weeks and then are off one week - usually adjusting the schedule within the team.

I am missing a few individual email addresses. If you have email but did not get your individual recap from me, please send me your email address and I can add it to my group mailing.

It may seem weird but my OSC email is Treasurer@omahasportsclub.com

Thanks again for a great year and see you on the greens!
