Bowling

Omaha Sports Club offers bowling on Friday nights. Teams consist of eight to 10 bowlers. Five bowlers bowl each week, which allows participants regular nights off. Bowling is "pay per play" - pay $12 only on the nights you bowl. Lanes are turned on for practice at 6:15 p.m. and bowling starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. Bowling should end no later than 9:45 p.m.

If you are interested in bowling with the Omaha Sports Club, please contact Darlene Zauss or send an e-mail to bowling@omahasportsclub.com.

Ten Sports Club ladies went to the Nebraska Women's State Bowling Tournament in May in Omaha.  Congratulations to the ladies who participated and here is how they placed.

For their respective divisions, Cindee Adams placed 118th in singles and 89th in all events, Joyce Stoural placed 242nd in singles and, along with Michaela Starks, placed 176th in doubles, Pat Martinson placed 42nd in singles and 82nd in all events. The team of Mel Hiatt, Sheryl Parks, Sandy Martin, Marlys Oestreich and Pat Martinson placed 44th in team. Thanks to Michaela for being a last minute replacement for Diana Spencer who had broken her wrist just a week before the tournament.

Next year's tournament is in Hastings (ROAD TRIP!) so we will be putting together teams in late September (deadline for registration is November 15).  We are also flirting with the idea of going to nationals, which is in El Paso, Texas, in 2010.

Expect Notice for Bowling Rosters Soon

I will send out emails to all bowlers soon to obtain rosters for the coming year so I can get the software up and running.  Bowling begins September 4, and we will use any established averages (over 21 games) from last year's league. New bowlers or bowlers without 21 games last year will establish their average after three games. Once again, we will use match point scoring and a 90 precent handicap.

Bowling costs $12 per bowler per night bowled. The USBC sanction fee will remain at $18 and all bowlers will need to have a current membership (for the 2009-2010 year). You will need to complete or renew your membership by Sept. 25, 2009.

If you are interested in bowling, email Treasurer@omahasportsclub.com or call me at 402-339-7496.
