The Omaha Sports Club has two dart leagues: A large, friendly, social 501 league on Sunday nights and a slightly more competitive and more intimate cricket league on Monday nights.

Both leagues are drafted leagues, and we try to ensure good competition. Players are ranked into four skill levels, and each team is made up of a player from each level. For more information, email Randy Smith at darts@omahasportsclub.com.

At the banquet on December 12, the Sam Spicka Memorial Tournament was held in memory of our friend. Teams were drawn by splitting the players in two groups and one drawn from each group.

Tournament winners were: Diana Haye and Deb Davidson in first; Gene Kloewer and Sylvia Hansen in second; Pat Martinson and Bob Swatek in third; and, Eddie Donaldson and Deb Emery in fourth. Way to shoot darts everyone in Sam’s honor!

We’ll soon start darts for the 2011 spring session. Please send in your application soon. Cost per league is $25.

The dart draft will be held on Sunday, January 8, and the new session begins on January 16 and 17. We will be off Super Bowl Sunday on February 6 and finish on April 3. The banquet will be on April 10.
