Mark you calendars to attend our end-of-season volleyball party on March 16 at Johnny Sortino’s Pizza Parlor, 7880 L St. The party will start at 8:30 p.m. and go until they kick us out.
We have a volunteer that would like to host our end-of-season party. Barb Fullbright, our OSC social co-chair, would like to help us and get to know us better. She will welcome any ideas that we have to provide our club with more enjoyable social activities. So don’t be shy around her and let’s be sure to thank her for helping us out.
This session is going very well. Most teams are vying for the top spot and one thing is certain, all teams are enjoying their Tuesday night OSC volleyball. Look at the VB page for up-to-date standings and if you wish to watch any league play, please feel free to show up any time you want.
Thanks to our BB league for hosting another fantastic party at Dinkers Bar and Grill on February 2. A photo album is available to view on this web site. This was a very enjoyable night.
The women’s and men’s leagues are also going very well. We have several new faces this session and the play has been very enjoyable. Thanks to our coordinators, Janelle Eckoff, CJ Trader and Craig Schwenke.
The summer session is just around the corner. The team application form will be available soon, so start thinking about who you would like to play with for summer indoor volleyball.
With the poor weather, I need to stress the need to keep our street shoes off the gym floors. Please bring another pair of shoes to play in and remember to pick up all trash even if it is not ours.
It is time that we start thinking about candidates for the Omaha Sports Club board of directors. If you would like to run for office, please let me know. Being on the board does not require a lot of time. Honestly, it is a great way to meet people and give back to this great club.
Special congratulations to Mike Menke, our B1 manager and friend on his recent retirement. His weeks will now consist of six Saturdays and a Sunday. Hope he can handle the retirement, but it’s a sure thing that we can find something to keep him busy with for the Omaha Sports Club. Best of wishes to Mike!
Have a great season,
Joe Martinez
