The summer season was very hard to put together, but it finally happened. We put together a lot of individual teams and helped a lot of teams find players.
We ended up with 35 teams, which was pretty good. We are seeing a pattern develop and it seems we get fewer upper players playing volleyball in the summer. They are turning to other activities, which is fine but it makes it hard for OSC to have leagues that are even. We had a lot of turnout from the B, B1 and B2 levels. If anyone has any suggestions as to what should be done, we welcome your ideas. Write to volleyball@omahasportsclub.com
Your club needs your help and it is time to step up and give it. We need people to run the club and for many years we have been going to the same well, which is just about dried up. Please volunteer to run for one of the three executive board positions. We need new blood with fresh ideas to see our club prosper into the future.
Just a reminder concerning our gyms. Do not wear your outdoor shoes on the courts. Make sure all trash, even if it is not ours, goes into a trash can and please continue being good OSC ambassadors.
One last thing, continue to pass the word to all of your family members, friends, co-workers and everyone about this great club.
Have a great summer,
Your OSC volleyball committee:
Joe Martinez, Christine Shank and Shawn Watkins
