Volleyball

OSC volleyball strives to create a fun atmosphere where one can make new friends, enjoy old friends and have a great time playing volleyball year round. We have six coed leagues of different skill levels (AA, A, BB, B, B1, B2), three women's leagues (A, BB, B), and one men's league (BB).

Fall and Spring coed league teams & mens league teams are compiled via a draft, while the women's leagues are team signups. The Summer session is coed only and is also team signup. All levels of players are able to play.

Happy 4th of July to you all and I hope that everyone is having a safe and wonderful summer.

There are just a few things we all need to think about. Please do not leave valuables in your car while you are playing and try to make it a habit to leave the gym with another player. Be aware of your surroundings and try to watch each other’s back to make sure we are secure and safe.
The summer leagues are progressing well and many players have noticed that there are a few new faces this summer on the courts. We welcome these new members and hope that these new players are enjoying themselves and will choose to try out for our fall coed volleyball season.
We are planning to again have 6 coed leagues, 3 women’s leagues and a men’s league.  Look for the applications next month. Last spring, we were short of women for our coed leagues, so please help us out and tell your friends about our leagues and our club and encourage them to join us for some great coed volleyball this fall.
Our OSC board of directors has been asked to present to the members for a vote to change our Constitution that would lower our minimum membership age from 21 to 19. If this passes, we will be able to offer our young adults the pleasure that we all have the fortune of enjoying.
Honestly, in my opinion, if these 19-and 20-year-old men and women can vote and serve our country, why should they not be able to join the Omaha Sports Club? Let us recognize the value of our youth and proceed in the positive direction.
Have a great July,
Joe Martinez
